Barbera | 2022

Soft and gentle tannins, natural acidity customary to the variety, and luscious dark fruit flavours make the 2022 H&L Barbera an ideal wine to serve chilled on a hot summer’s day or straight off the wine rack with wood-fired pizza, warm osso buco or other Italian-style dishes.

A grape variety native to the northern (cooler) part of Italy, Barbera can be quite fickle to grow in McLaren Vale due to our hot and dry growing conditions. The 2022 vintage, however, yielded the best fruit quality we’ve seen in the last fifteen years due to a cooler growing season.
